The poem was awarded the chair at the National
Eisteddfod of Wales, Colwyn Bay, 1910, when its
author, Robert Williams Parry, was 26 years old.
It is regarded as the high watermark of the Romantic
Movement in Welsh literature.
MOMA WALES commissioned the poet and academic
Gwynn ap Gwilym, a native of Machynlleth,
to translate the poem into English.
The text of The Love Messenger will be included in
the Tabernacle Art Competition pack.
